Following practical training days, students are given written and practical assignments to be completed at home. Students then return to the school for their assessments. To comply with the rigorous NVQ assessment procedure, it is essential that student provide models to work on during their assessment days.

The NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Nail Services contains the following units:

Monitor procedures to safely control work operations

Monitoring the operation of workplace health and safety procedures is the legal responsibility of all senior staff in a salon, not just that of the manager or proprietor. These responsibilities extend beyond salon staff to all people entering the business, e.g. clients, suppliers, contract cleaners, etc. Therefore, in the context of this unit, ‘other people’ includes not only other employees, but all those who have a reason to be on salon premises at any time.

This unit is about working with others to plan, implement and evaluate promotional activities. The ability to competently present information and interact with the public whilst demonstrating skills is a particularly important aspect of this unit.

Mode of Study

At UK Beauty Schools, we run this qualification in a unit by unit form. This allows you to work at your own pace and fit your studies around your current commitments. For your 1st unit, you will attend the practical day, complete the home study elements (practice diary, case studies and assessments) and then return to the school for your live assessments and paper tests. Once the unit is complete, you will go through the same process for the rest of the units until the qualification is complete. You will get up to 2 years to complete the qualification with this route, however it can be completed in as little as 6 months. Failure to complete the qualification within 2 years could result in additional assessments fees.

By signing up for the qualification, you are making a commitment to completing all requirements for the course so please ensure that you chose the most appropriate route for you.
